Utilization of Voter’s Slips as an alternate Voter
ID – Modification of instructions on Voter Slips regarding
 Voters‟ Slips should be authenticated by the
Electoral Officer/BLO concerned before
distribution, so that they can be used as an
alternative identification document by a voter for
the purpose of casting one‟s vote in the
forthcoming polls.
 Sample Voter‟s Slip enclosed in the above said
instructions of the Commission dated 18.02.2011
will stand modified to that extent and note (i)
therein will also stand modified. A revised sample
is sent herewith where these slips have already
been printed the above corrections may be carried
out by means of a rubber stamp.

*Open the cover of result section of the

•Press the CLEAR button.

BALLOT button of CU that no more voting
is possible after pressing the CLOSE
button.

Preparation of EVM for commencement of Poll
**. Ask
the Polling Agents to put their signatures on the
GREEN PAPER SEAL to be used for sealing of the inner
compartment of Result Section of CU.
** Fix the GREEN PAPER SEAL in the inner cover of
Result Section of Control Unit (CU).
** Fix & seal the SPECIAL TAG after inner Cover of the
Result Section of CU.
** Close the outer cover of the Result Section of CU by
fixing & sealing the ADDRESS TAG and offer the
sealing of the Polling Agents thereon accordingly.
** Fix the STRIP SEAL in prescribed way on CU.

No….. of ……….Assembly Constituency conducted the Mock Poll at
……. AM today, the poll day i.e. 18.4.2011 following the instructions
issued by the Election Commission of India.
A total of ….. votes were polled in the mock poll and after the mock poll I have
carefully cleared the memory and the total votes polled showed „0‟ after
clearing the memory.
A. At the time of mock poll the following polling agents representing the
candidates whose names mentioned against the names of such agents

During Poll
To examine the Ballot Unit in certain intervals
at the Voting Compartment during Poll along
with Polling Agents so that the voter can not
apply any adhesive or any mark on the Ballot
Unit to create any trouble in the voting
procedure.
**
** Voting Procedure may be demonstrated on
the dummy EVM as and when demanded by
the voter. It shall not be demonstrated on the
original EVM used at the Polling Station. The
dummy EVM will be supplied at DC.
During Poll
**
Tally the total Poll with Voter Register
( 17A) periodically as prescribed by
pressing Total Button of the Control Unit.
** During the “ Not allowed to Vote for
violation of Voting Procedure” or
“Refused to Vote”, if Ballot is issued in
CU, the next eligible voter will cast the
vote and Record this incidence in the
Voter Register( 17A) and PS05A(
Refused to Vote).
At the end of Poll
Open the Black Lid cover the CLOSE
Button
** Press the CLOSE Button
** After pressing the CLOSE Button,
total Poll record will be shown on the
display panel of the Control Unit.
Record the total Poll in theprescribed
form and tally with Voter Register.
** Ask the Polling Agents to note the
Total Poll.
**
At the end of Poll
** Switch off the Control Unit.
** Disconnect the Ballot Unit and Control Unit
by separating the connecting cable.
** Keep the both BU & CU in its respective
Boxes
** Seal with ADDRESS TAG the BU & CU
Boxes.
** Polling Agents be asked to put their seals
on the said ADDRESS TAGs of the EVM (
Both BU & CU)Boxes.
**Hand over the Polled EVM ( BU & CU) at
RC with proper receipt.
