We remanufacture only Power Stroke Diesel engines, which increases our level of expertise…and we
leave the complexity of producing engines for multiple manufacturers to competitors.
What does “OEM Specs” Really Mean?
Competing engine remanufacturers don’t always have the
resources that we do. And when it comes to remanufacturing
Ford Power Stroke Diesel Engines to true Original Equipment
specifications, only we have proprietary Ford Engineering
blueprint data. This intellectual property is not available to any
competitor. JASPER and other competitors have to reverse-engineer
OEM product and attempt to duplicate the original.
Of its own remanufactured engines, JASPER says:
“The complete engine will be remanufactured using a standard
set of new internal parts. All other castings and components will be
remanufactured to OEM specifications.”
Keep in mind that “using a standard set of new internal parts” doesn’t limit JASPER
to using Genuine Ford or Motorcraft original equipment parts. Ford uses only genuine
OEM parts – every time, on every engine.

When is a critical engine component
a “maintenance item”?
When it’s part of a JASPER
Engines warranty.
Ford backs its Power Stroke® Diesel engines with a twoyear, unlimited-mileage warranty. JASPER doesn’t come
close – just read the fine print on their website. They offer
a two-year unlimited-mileage parts and labor warranty on
diesel “running completes,” but that’s where any warranty
similarity ends.
Ford Remanufactured Power Stroke Diesel engines offer
nationwide warranty coverage on every component for the
length of the warranty.
But JASPER considers many critical engine
components “maintenance items” and warrants them
for only one year. None of these components has a
recommended maintenance interval or replacement
schedule. That’s because they are not maintenance
parts. And that’s why Ford fully covers them all, for the
entire two-year warranty period:
• Electronic fuel injectors • Water pumps
• Hydraulic high
• Sensors
pressure pumps
• Sending units
• Belts and hoses
• Turbochargers
Ford also replaces the EGR cooler and oil cooler with a
new OEM part on every remanufactured diesel engine.
None are rebuilt or reclaimed, which goes a long way
toward ensuring reliable operation. JASPER’s website
is silent on these components.
