Academics

Homework is assigned on a weekly basis, Monday through Thursday.
There will be no homework assigned on Jewish holidays that fall during
the school week. Homework is not assigned over the weekend.

All homework, upcoming tests, quizzes, and projects will be posted on
our class blog, which may be accessed by clicking on the Homework tab

Rubrics for long term projects will be passed out in class. These rubrics
will also be posted on the blog. They may be accessed by clicking on
the Homework/General Studies tab, then clicking on the Projects tab

The assignments for the week will be updated every Sunday by
6:00 P.M.

Students are responsible for printing a copy of their assignments from
the blog and placing the copy in their binder on a weekly basis.

In addition to skill based homework, students are expected to read on a
nightly basis. Their reading time is to be recorded on a reading log
that is in their binder. Later in the year, each student will have a
Shelfari account that will replace the reading log.

Students will receive a Friday folder most every Friday that will contain
their work. Please review your child’s work, sign the folder, and return
on Monday. If work, class work or homework is missing, a Missing
Assignment notice will be included. The assignment and due date will be
marked. Please sign and return the notice. ALL WORK IS TO BE
RETURNED EACH WEEK. At the end of each nine week grading period,
all work will be sent home.

Late work will be penalized unless prior arrangements have been made
with me. The first day an assignment is late, 5 points will be deducted,
the second day late, ten points will be deducted, and if the assignment
is not turned in by the third day, it will be counted as a zero.

If your child is absent, make-up work will be given upon their return.
The number of days absent is the number of days he/she has to
complete the work that was missed.
