Ft McClellan is no longer an Active Army Base, it is utilized by the
Alabam National Guard as a Training Facility. Lodging is available
for single's only, no spouses or families. If you are traveling alone and
are looking for a place to lay your head for the night, call them. You
can only make reservations 3 days in advance. At Exit 185, I-20
travel north on US 43/AL Rte 21 for approx 10 miles to the base
This facility is actually a Training Site for The Tennessee National
Guard. It is located approximately 14 miles south of Chattanooga
Take Exit 2, I-75 W for 12 miles to Exit 345, then north on US 41/76
for 1 mile, right on State Rte 2 for 1 mile, facility is located on left.
Separate buildings for male and female. Private rooms, double bed,
TV, small fridge, microwave, coffee maker & fixings, alarm clock,
desk & chair, wireless internet. Central Latrine and restrooms
located down the hall. No food available, cost of room - $13.00.
The Georgia RTI is located on Dobbins ARB, but lodging is separate
from the Dobbins Inn. Fifteen 2 room suites, queen bedroom w/TV;
Private Bath; couch opens into full bed; TV in living room; microwave;
fridge; coffe maker; WiFi; $44.00; washer/dryer available. Also has
Double rooms with two full size beds; TV; microwave; fridge; bath;
WiFi - $40.00. Call for directions.
This facility is used by the Illinois Army National Guard as a Training
Center. Located 83 miles South West of Chicago, 10 miles south of
Exit 97, I-80 on IL Hwy 15 & 30. Nothing fancy, but a bed, bath and TV

This is a Kansas National Guard Training Site located at the Salina, KS
Municipal Airport - 8 miles south of I-135 & I-70 Junction, 1.2 miles
West of Exit 89, I-135. Dining Facility is located in same building as
rooms. I have utilized Space A Lodging there many times, I find it
convient, comfortable and extremely affordable (about $25.00)
This facility is used by the Kentucky as a Regional Training Center.
Located just off Exit 53, Western KY Parkway, about 7 miles south
west of Central City, KY. I have used this facility, and find it very
excellent for lodging - When open, Dining Facility is available.
Lovely Facility nested in Oak Trees right against the east bank of the
Miss River. For 100 years this was site of the Hansen's Disease
(Leprocy) research and treatment center - in 1999, the LA National
Guard accuired the site and has various units plus Youth Challenge and
Fed Job Corp Training Centers located here. Rooms, Shopette, Silo
Lounge, Nine Hole Golf Course, Dining Facility, Fitness Center, Lake
Facility with paddle boats, Tennis Courts, 2 Churches, Leprocy Museum
I live less than 10 miles on the West Bank of River from this facility.

The old Louisiana Army Ammunition Plant which has been taken over as
a Training Site by the Louisiana National Guard. It is located right off of
I-20E (Exit 38) which is approximately 12 mies east of Bossier City
I20/I220 Exit 26. Travel south from exit 38 about 1/2 mile to US 80, left
for about 1 mile to MacArthur Ave MP Station. You will be given

new, was finished in the summer of 2011, and should be a great
alternative to Barksdale AFB, especially if you are traveling east on I-20.
A new Regional Training Institute is also being built on the facility, so
remember vacancies may not always be available, especially on
training week-ends. There 6 rooms equipped with the following:
double bed; air/heat; private bathroom/shower; phone; small fridge;
small microwave oven; coffee maker; no wi-fi; Cost of Room is
$37.63 per night. A list of restaurants located within 3 miles of base
in room; All ranks club located nearby - bar with mixed drinks, wine,
beer; large screen HD TV; pool table; darts game; snacks; frozen

Camp Keys is the ME National Guard Headquarters, and houses the
240th Regiment, Regional Training Institute (RTI). The limited info I
have on this facility is that there are rooms on a Space-A basis as
available. There are single and double rooms with and without shared
baths, AC, Cable, and no established rate (find out when you call).
No Wi-Fi, Dining Facility only open during week-end drills, no laundry.
Camp Keys is located at the Augusta State Airport, there is an RTI
Location link on the web site, facility is in process of being upgraded
Ft Custer is the home of the 177th Regional Training Institute (RTI)
The web page has a map w/directions, and is located 4 miles west
of downtown Battle Creek, MI. Info I received is that there are 242
rooms, 200 one bed and 42 queen size beds, with a mixture of
private and shared baths. Rates range from $26.00 to $35.00. Each
floor has a breakroom with Microwave and Fridge and washer-dryers.

Located in central MS about 10 miles south of Grenada, MS. The base
is 6 miles east of Exit 199, I-55. Used as a Logistics and Training base
for the MS National Guard. Nothing fancy, I have stayed there several
times - private room (single bed) with shared bath (toilet & shower).
Cost was only $16.00, and was able to reserve two rooms sharing the
same bath when I had someone with me. Lounge & food on premises.
Located at the Gulfport/Biloxi International Airpot. This facility is run
by the MS Air National Guard. Rooms are standard at $35.00 per
night. Facility is located 4.2 miles from I-10. Exit 349 - take US 49S
to Airport Rd, left to Washington St, right to Main Gate. I have stayed
there several times and found it to be comfortable and affordable lodging

In Jefferson City, this facility is the home of the Missouri National Guard
Headquarters. Located 38 miles south of I-70, take either Exit 128
(US 54) or Exit 148 (US 63) south to Jefferson City (about 30 miles)
follow US 63/50 east to Militia Dr (7 milles), left to Facility (about 1 mile)

New Mexico NG Training Site, Located about 15 miles south of Santa
Fe, 3.8 miles south of Exit 276, I-25. Ther are seven 2 room suites for

SOUTH CAROLINA
Clarks Hill Training Center

This is a New York Training Site located on Ret 6/202 near Peekskill,
NY. Visitors Quarters are available (VQ-Bldg 508), Rooms have
linen, housekeeping, emendities, cable, internet and small fridge. No
private baths, it is all community latrines and showers. Cost is $30.00
per night, per person. All rooms have single beds, with 2 or 3 per
room. Two cottages are available, one sleeps 7 and the other 4, but
can be difficult to get at times, cost is $60.00 per night peer person.
I have visited the facility which is in a very senic area, located in the
mountains, and right on the Hudson River.
Camp Gruber is an OK National Guard Training Site that is located
near Braggs, OK on OK Rte 10, 14 miles SE of Muskogee, OK and
18 miles north of Exit 291, I-40. The web site has a billiting link on
it that describes the available lodging on Space-A basis (Field Grade
Homes, Field Grade Trailers, Field Grade Quarters, Company Grade
Quarters, Enlisted Quarters and R.V. Site Price of lodging range
from $10.00 for Enlisted Quarters to $22.00 for Field Grade Homes
Room amenities include:Wi-Fi, Basin, TV, Micro, Fridge - Site has a PX,
and Laundry facilities available, no dining available on base
Located in the Oklahoma City limits, this site is utilized by the OK
National Guard for various training courses. Stayed there once, but
facility has been remodled since, larger rooms added - $30.00 night;
private bath; flat screen TV; microwave; fridge; coffee maker; telephone;
washer/dryer on each floor; Gym/fitness certer; Also few VIP quarters
available. Dining located nearby, and very close to the "Cowboy and
Western Heritage Museum. Alternative to Tinker AFB.

Sturgis, SD on Rte 34/79 - 2.7 miles from Exit 30, I-90, approximately

Camp Guernsey is a Joint Training Facility managed by the WY
Army National Guard. It is located in the rural SE WY countryside,
on US Rte 26, 15 miles East of Exit 92, I-25. It is near the site where
you can still see original Oregon Trail Wagon Wheel Ruts at the State
Historic Site near Guernsey. There are various types of lodging available
to include house trailers; fully equipped homes and cabins. Need to
call the lodging office to see what is available and cost.

This installation is not a National Guard Facility, but it is not listed
in the Military Livings Handbook, the Marine Corps Training Facility
list nor John-D's Space-a pages. The base is located approximately
4 miles west of the intersection of US-108 Sonora Pass and US-394.
I understand that it is cited at 6,762 feet with elevations in the training
areaa ranging to just under 12,000 feet. Lodging is available at the
Trainsient Quarters at the MWTC. Military Retirees may inquire about
availability by contacting the billeting office 14 days prior to arrival. All
rooms include satellite TV, DSN phone, coffee pot and refridgerator.
Wi-Fi is available in the TQ Lobby. At present, VIP Quarters (05 and
above) $55.00; Single Room w/Kitchen (Any TAD guest) $50.00; Double
Occupancy (Any TAD guest) $45.00; Single Occupancy (Any TAD
guest) $40.00. Food and drinks are available at The Picket Chalet
(Base Club) all ranks club - menue includes pizza, salads, sandwiches,
