The pressure load combined with the high service temperatures produces a slow but continuous microstructural variation of the steel, causing a progressive reduction of the properties of the material itself: this phenomenon is called “Creep”. Since 1957 TenarisDalmine has been conducing studies on this topic in cooperation with recognized international R&D laboratories. It is member of the European Creep Collaborative Committee and participates in European R&D programs on boiler materials. Its creep laboratory conducts extensive studies and characterizations on all the boiler materials, with single tests reaching durations of more than 100000 hours. Tenaris performs deep analyses on the microstructural evolution, in order to verify the long term stability of the materials in service conditions. 33,7 35,0 38,0 40,0 42,4 44,5 48,3 52,0 54,0 57,0 60,3 63,5 70,0 73,0 76,1 82,5 88,9 101,6 108,0 114,3 127,0 133,0 139,7 141,3 152,4 159,0 EXAMPLE OF ISOTHERMAL CURVES FOR CREEP RUPTURE DATA 500 C 550 C 168,3 177,8 600 C 193,7 STRESS [N/mm2] 219,1 244,5 1000 273,0 323,9 355,6 100 406,4 457,0 508,0 559,0 0 10 100 1000 10000 100000 1000000 TIME [Hours] 610,0 660,0 711,0 812,0 Steel grades from Carbon up to 10CrMo5-5 (T/P11 according to ASTM A 213/A 335) 914,0 Alloy grades higher than 10CrMo5-5 feasibility ranges can be different; please contact Tenaris’ Technical Department 1016,0 Upon request, provided by Third Parties 1118,0 0,079 Boiler_POGE_2014.indd 5 0,091 0,102 0,114 0,126 0,142 0,157 0,177 0,197 0,220 0,248 0,280 0,315 0,346 0,394 0,433 0,492 0,559 28/03/14 12.52 0 HOT ROLLED TUBES FOR HIGH TEMPERATURE AND PRESSURE APPLICATIONS STANDARD CORRELATION BETWEEN EN - ASTM/ASME - DIN - NF A - BS - UNI - ISO EN EN 10216 Part 1 - TR2 Unalloy DIN ASTM/ASME NF 53 106 Carbon Steel 1629 Unalloyed 1630 Unalloyed 49-111 (p) 49-112 305 Car General use Ambient Temperature Pressure purposes Black Hot-deep zinc-coat.
