businesses to bring
a free movie to
green space beside
the library! This
month’s movie is
Disney’s Zootopia!
Grab your kids and head to this
FREE movie on July 15! The FRN
will be selling refreshments to raise
money for youth camps.
It’s outrageous how much
fun kids will have at the
hands on art exhibit that will
be visiting MCPLS in July
and August!
Artrageous is a fun and
engaging way to provide
kids a hands-on approach
to the arts.
This travelling
exhibit uses
works of art
from the
masters to
help children
discover the
elements of
design in the
visual arts.
Famous paintings like
Grant Wood’s “American
Gothic,” Georges Seurat’s
“A Sunday Afternoon on La
Grande Jatte,” and more
will teach kids about
shapes, lines, color, and
space in a fun, interactive
way.

toddlers and preschoolers will
begin July 1. Kids 18 months to 5

Toddler classes will be for ages
18-36 months and will be held on
Mondays from 11-12. Ages 3-5
years will meet Mondays from
1:30-2:30. Space is limited, so call

A Splash of Summer
Children’s summer programming draws
to a close in July with the final sessions
of “On Your Mark, Get Set, Read!” and
“Cook-a-Book Is out of This World.”
Ms. Janna’s and Ms. Lee Ann’s classes
conclude on July 5 and 6 at the library,
but the big finale will be held on July 12
at 2 pm at the Mannington Park.
Our guessing game for the
month is “That’s a Hot One.”
Guess the number of Hot
Tamales candies in the jar, be
the closest without going over,
and win the jar.
Prizes and goodie bags will be handed
out along with a special surprise for each
of our participants. Cook-a-Book puts the
finishing touches on a stellar semester
with “Cosmic Bodies” on July 7 and
“Space Exploration” on July 14.
Teen Tuesday
Friends and Patriots
Even though Ms. Linda’s teen
summer program ended on July
28, she has an additional
special event planned: on July
19 at 1:30 pm she will be hosting
“Don’t Wii Have Fun?” for
patrons ages 11-17.
Each year the Friends of the Fairview
Public Library sponsors a coloring and
poster contest for Fairview Elementary
and Fairview Middle students. This year’s
theme is “Legacy of Patriots.”
Come join her for refreshments
and gaming fun as she provides
a variety of Wii games that will
get your heart pumping and your
pulse racing. Registration is
required so be
sure to contact
the library to sign
up.
Speaking of Books Club
Speaking of Books will meet July 26
at 4 pm to discuss A Land More Kind
Than Home by Wiley Cash.
For a curious boy like
Jess Hall, growing up

training classes at the Mannington
Public Library consisting of First
Aid and CPR in order to be hired
as Personal Attendant's (Direct
Care Worker's) for clients who
need in-home assistance.
Training classes are scheduled
once a month for the rest of the
year. Training for this month is
scheduled for July 13, 14, 22, and
29 from 9 am -5 pm To sign up for

Hello All!
It's that time of year again! SUMMER READING! It has begun and
we have a fun filled summer ahead. So many things to do for all
ages! I've got my running shoes out and ready to go for “Ready, Set,
READ!”
Summer reading is a delightful way to encourage children to stay
active with their reading over the summer. By participating in the
program, they can earn prizes, learn new things and continue their
love of reading.
Fridays are my favorite! Every Friday is a special event. I'm so
excited to see what special family events take place this year.
The library is a wonderful way to spend your summer days! Be sure
