The G13-New 15 kV DPDT Relay Solves High Current Switching Issues
Santa Barbara, California-GIGAVAC®, today's expert in high voltage relays, has created the G13, a completely
sealed DPDT (double pole double throw) 15 kV relay. With a height of 48mm and width of 55mm, the G13
easily handles high in-rush current switching between power sources and loads.
The G13 is designed with mounting flexibility and simplicity of installation. It can be mounted in any position
using either the jam nut supplied for through-chassis installations or the conveniently located mounting tabs
on top. It comes equipped with 30cm high voltage flying leads. Plus, custom length cables are available that
eliminate the need for special wiring.
According to Sales VP Jim Lanum, "In the past, switching 15 kV between power sources or loads has required
the use of two double throw relays. Now, we have developed a small, inexpensive 15 kV DPDT relay that
replaces those old relays and handles the high in-rush current when switching occurs. The SF6 gas inside the
G13 has many benefits; including high voltage stand-off capabilities that ionize during contact closure
increasing the ability to switch high current in-rush loads".
The G13 is a double pole, double throw (2 form C) configuration with 30cm or custom-length high voltage
flying leads that make connection easy. Coil voltages are 12 Vdc, 26.5 Vdc, and 115 Vdc or customized; AND
have GIGAVAC's exclusive changeable coil feature allowing users to change the coil even after the relay has
been installed. Most popular models are in stock with special orders available within two weeks. For example,
in quantities of 25 units, the price of the G13 is $252 each. GIGAVAC accepts VISA, MasterCard and American
Express and generally ships most relays the same day the order is received. For complete information and
ordering, visit www.gigavac.com or call 805-755-2000.
