New Student Info for Computer Science Computer Science is back at Wittenberg after a short hiatus, and we’re looking for dedicated students who want exceptional job prospects. DEGREES: Wittenberg had a Computer Science major for almost 30 years before taking a short hiatus in 2013. But the major is back now, and we are excited to recruit new students. We are offering two BA degrees. One is in “general” computer science which prepares students for a wide range of graduate schools and industry careers. The second is in “cybersecurity” where students will take advanced coursework with the Advanced Technical Intelligence Center (ATIC) and attain an expertise in network security and a security clearance. We also offer a minor in computer science. Approximately 90% of our majors graduate within 4 years. STUDENTS: Between 5 and 8 students graduate with computer science degrees each year. Graduates primarily get jobs in industry. ACTIVITIES: Our students participate in both on campus and off campus research projects (at Texas State… ), study abroad (in Germany…) and internships (with NCR, Dropoly, DISCUS Software, Pages 4 U, ….). GRADUATE SCHOOLS: While most of our majors find immediate employment, computer science is excellent preparation for a variety of graduate programs such as: Northeastern U. (Economics), U. Texas (Geology), Stanford (Computer Science), U. of Illinois (Computer Science)… JOBS: There is a huge need for students well versed in computer science. Computer science is one of the most marketable majors offered at Wittenberg. Past majors have gone on to: Junior system developer at Brooksource, Software developer and automated test framework developer at Nationwide, Quality assurance engineer at Oracle Software engineer at Google, Program analyst at the MENTOR Network, Android developer at Marxent, Software developer at EPIC 90% of our majors have a job in computer science or attend graduate school within 6 months of graduation CONTACT: Please contact us for additional information or to meet with a student: Beth Hallauer (Admin.
