Featuring the Philips QL Induction Lighting System

• 100,000 Hours of Operation

• Very Low Maintenance

• Efficient Operation

The LPQ Series is a luminaire truly designed to provide lighting for life. Lamping options include Philips QL induction lamping system that is certified to provide 100,000 hours of operation. It is the ideal luminaire for parking garages where safety and maintenance are of primary concern. The LPQ with induction lamping is also vibrationresistant because it contains no electrodes to fail due to the rumble of high-volume traffic.

LPQ Prism Area lights are recommended for indoor applications where ceiling mounting heights do not exceed 15 feet. It is also a cost-effective replacement fixture for maintenance areas, industrial corridors, wash rooms, storage areas, locker rooms or anywhere safety, maintenance cost and reliability are crucial. The LPQ features a heat-dissipating cast-aluminum housing, corrosion-resistant finish and superior optical components for long-lasting performance.

The Right Lighting Solution for Parking Garages

The upper refractor ring is designed to redirect 20% of the light upward to the ceiling, eliminating the “cavern effect” and creating a comfortable, uniform lighting environment. The remainder of the light is redirected down and out below 70° for even, reduced-glare operation.

The LPQ luminaire is designed to operate with the Philips 55 watt or 85 watt QL Induction

Lighting System as well as CF and HID sources. It has been tested and certified by Philips to ensure 100,000 hours of operation. All heat sensitive components have been designed with adequate heat removal and will operate well below the maximum allowed temperature.

What is Induction Lighting?

The induction lamp operates without an electrode. An induction coil powered by an electronic unit produces a magnetic field in the lamp that ultimately produces light. Since it has no electrode, the lamp does not fail catastrophically as do other lamp sources.

Superior Lighting Quality

In terms of color quality, the induction lamp is virtually the same as a good fluorescent lamp. It offers a CRI rating of 80 and has no light loss in cold environments.

It also has instant-on and requires no re-strike time unlike HID sources.

Cost Effective Alternative to Conventional Sources

The LPQ with induction lighting offers huge relamping/maintenance savings over the life of the fixture–up to $700.00. System savings can even be greater depending on the difficulty of fixture access and labor cost.

Reliable, Durable and Long-Lasting

The induction lamp is durable, and light output is not significantly influenced by ambient temperatures. The LPQ with induction lamping is vibration-resistant because it contains no electrodes to fail due to shock or vibration.

Equivalent Brightness for Less Energy

The induction lamp produces more light in the blue portion of the visible light spectrum, to which the eye is more sensitive at night. In contrast, HPS is stronger in the yellow range where the ability to define details is lost. The Scotopic/Photopic

(S/P) ratio takes this into account to compare the performance of lamp sources.

The result is the 85 watt induction lamp has fewer lumens than a 150 watt HPS but offers sufficient lumens for equivalent illumination at night while using 43% less energy.

Lighting for Life

Because the induction lamp has no filament to burn out, it is rated to operate for 100,000 hours before needing replacement. That translates into 25 years before replacement based on 4,000 hours of annual operation.

Contractor-Friendly Features for Faster Installation

The Quick Mount Plate eliminates the need to open the fixture during installation and is shipped complete with the lamp installed. The contractor simply mounts the Quick Hang Plate to the splice box, pulls the wires through the access hole and hangs the fixture on the provided hook. This allows for fast, hands-free installation without opening the fixture. To complete the installation, the LPQ is rotated upward and locked into place.
