The Electricity Act requires you to be registered
as an Electrical Appliance Service Person
Endorsed to Disconnect and Reconnect (EASQ)
with the Electrical Workers Registration Board
(EWRB) in order to carry out maintenance of
electrical appliances. EASQ Registration is for
the maintenance of single phase electrical
appliances rated up to 230 volts supplied via a
flexible cord and plug, including disconnection
and reconnection.
Block Classes
•
Mon 3 - Fri 14 Nov from 8.00am - 4.00pm
(for two weeks). Exam on Sat 15 Nov from
9am - 11am.
Night Classes
•
2015 dates to be confirmed
HOW to enrol
•
You must be competent in English, and
•
Have a current CPR and First Aid
Certificate for Electrical Workers (see
www.lifecareconsultants.co.nz/firstaid or
any other first aid provider), and
•
Complete a Short Course Enrolment form
(include a copy of your Birth Certificate or
Passport plus a copy of your current First
Aid Certificate).
FEES
Course fee (domestic students):
$1,250.00 incl. GST. Exam fees are included in
the course fee.
You must have completed an EASQ tuition
course with an approved training provider
before taking the examination. To enrol
complete the EWRB entry form available from
Wintec and EWRB, and pay the examination fee
14 days before the examination date.
WORK EXPERIENCE FOR EASQ
In addition to completing the course and
passing the examination, you must submit
a confirmation of work experience when
applying for EASQ registration.
For EASQ, this involves work experience of
18 months of prescribed electrical work
including servicing 230 volt plug-in appliances.
It is possible, after completing the EASQ
course and examination, to continue with the
Electrical Service Technician (EST) course and
examination.

and replacement of single and three phase
electrical appliances and fittings rated up
to 460 volts, including disconnection and
reconnection to permanent wiring.
Block Classes

Mon 17 - Fri 21 Nov from 8.00am - 4.00pm
(for one week). Exam on Sat 22 Nov from
9am - 11am.
Night Classes

installations over 230 volts and up to 460 volts
rating. The 18 months must include at least 6

appliances or fittings.
