Leaving the probe cable unterminated can cause a high voltage to develop in the secondary winding which may damage the current probe transformer. WARNING When the probe slides are open, the exposed ferrite core pieces are not insulated. To avoid injury or equipment damage, remove power from an uninsulated wire before clamping the current probe around it.
