SAUGEEN OJIBWAY NATIONS POSITION DESCRIPTION BRUCE POWER CO-­ORDINATOR Member of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation Preferred Program: Saugeen Ojibway Nations (SON) Supervisor: Manager, SON Environment Office Accountable to: Term of Employment: Saugeen Ojibway Nation Joint Chiefs and Councils 51 Week Contract (Renewals based on availability of funding) Wage: $50,000 or commensurate with experience 37.5 hours/week (Monday to Friday) Occasional after hours and weekends as required Hours of Work: The Bruce Power Coordinator (“BP Coordinator”) is a principle liaison and resource person for the Saugeen Ojibway Nation (“SON”). The BP Coordinator is responsible for coordinating discussions between Bruce Power and the SON Joint Chiefs and Councils and assisting them in their efforts to protect SON rights, interests, and the SON lands and environment. Primary tasks include;; but not limited to;; coordinate meeting, document Traditional Duty to Consult process, implement and meet objectives of the SON BP Protocol, prepare budgets and financial submissions, report writing, research, policy analysis, coordinate SON’s environment assessment process as needed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Education and Experience) • • • • • • Post-­secondary education from an accredited College or University focused in Political Science, Business Administration or Environmental Studies. 2 years’ experience working in a related field A valid Ontario “G” Driver’s License Access to a reliable vehicle Willingness to provide the results of a current Criminal Reference Check Willingness to take all reasonable and necessary precautions to ensure personal safety and that of fellow workers KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES REQUIRED • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Excellent time management and organizational skills • Proven experience in developing and implementing project budgets, and work plans • Ability to communicate complex ideas to a variety of audiences in both written and verbal formats • Excellent facilitation skills and the ability to engage and communicate to a variety of audiences • Ability to work with complex and sensitive times lines Closing Date: Friday, September 23, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. Late applications will not be considered.
