To help ensure that its clients get the highest level of competency in the placement of
insurance products, Hilliard Lyons partnered with three of the most respected estate
planning attorneys in the United States, Robert A. Esperti, Renno L. Peterson, and
David K. Cahoone (EPC), to help develop a unique process, called the EPC Method.
The EPC Method helps Hilliard Lyons FCs to identify real wealth and estate planning
needs and provide an objective method of placing the proper life insurance to meet
those needs.
Extensive training is necessary to fully master the EPC Method. This training, which
Esperti, Peterson, and Cahoone taught, was limited to a carefully selected group of 30
of the most competent and productive Hilliard Lyons FCs and members of their teams.
The training included 72 hours of classroom sessions spread over a six month period that
covered an ambitious agenda designed to give participants hands-on experience in the use
of life and long-term care insurance. The top management of Hilliard Lyons, including
its CEO and other high level executives, attended the training. They wanted to
demonstrate the top-down commitment that Hilliard Lyons has made to the highest
professional standards in the placement of insurance.
The EPC Method and its training are exclusive to Hilliard Lyons. Both are unique
in the financial services industry. They allow Hilliard Lyons FCs to help their clients
identify real wealth and estate planning needs while offering proven planning solutions
