RARE EARTH (NEODYMIUM) MAGNETS
Rare Earth (or Neodymium) Magnets are extremely powerful. They are among the strongest of all magnets, and are relatively affordable,
making them very popular. They are considered permanent magnets, although some rare earth magnets will lose their magnetic field at
high temperatures. Some are also quite brittle unfortunately, which means that they need to be used with care, as they can break apart with
explosive force.
Produced by the powder metallurgical method with chemical composition of Nd2Fe14B
Very hard and brittle – cannot be drilled or machined
Extremely stable and highly resistant to demagnetisation.
Low resistance to corrosion
High resistance to magnetic demagnetization
Excellent cost to performance ratio
Not suitable for applications which are exposed to high temperatures - up to 80˚

Rare Earth (or Neodymium) Pot Magnets are high strength rare earth magnets in a mild steel cap for extra protection against chipping or
cracking. Due to the protective cover, they are a single sided magnet which allows for a non-destructive and easy solution for a wide range
of uses.

CERAMIC (FERRITE) MAGNETS
Ceramic (or Ferrite) Magnets are very hard and brittle. With a grey natural finish, Ceramic Magnets are sintered permanent magnets
composed of Barium or Strontium Ferrite. They provide less energy than Rare Earth Magnets, have a high resistance to demagnetisation,
are more resistant to corrosion and are very low cost. As with Rare Earth Magnets, they need to be used with care, and can break apart
with explosive force.
Produced by the powder metallurgical method with chemical composition of Ba/Sr O.6 Fe2O3
Very hard and brittle – cannot be drilled or machined
Good resistance to demagnetisation.
Excellent resistance to corrosion
Good temperature stability - maximum operating temperature 250˚C
