Currently have at least a 2.5 or higher cumulative and 2.0 or higher semester grade point average (GPA). If offered an RA position, you must maintain a 2.5 cumulative and 2.0 semester GPA to remain eligible for the position.
Be enrolled as a full-time student (12 credit hours for undergraduate students) during the fall 2016 and spring 2017 semesters in order to remain eligible for the RA position.
Employment Requirements
Have lived in an on-campus residential community for at least one semester (at CAC or another institution) by the end of the spring 2016 semester.
You would be applying for the full 2016-2017 academic year and will not be hired for only one semester. You would be expected to return to campus for training in early
August, several weeks before classes begin.
Please note that your financial aid package can be affected if hired, and it is your responsibility to contact the Financial Aid Office to learn how your aid could be impacted.
Applicants currently on Probation through Residence Life and/or Student Life are ineligible for consideration.
Hiring is contingent upon the satisfactory completion of a criminal background investigation, employment history verification, and fingerprint check.
You should read the RA contract to understand the position expectations.
Time Considerations
You must not be involved in full time internships or practicums (they are too demanding on your time and trying to do both will not help you succeed in your capstone academic experience).
RAs are required to be on-campus a minimum of 2 weekends a month. Some activities including sports may prevent this from being a possibility. If you have questions please contact John.Schaefer@centralaz.edu
Outside activities are limited to 15 hours per week clubs/ organization, employment,
(with approval from the Director/ Designee).
If you hold an executive position in a campus organization or for a major campus student office, once hired as an RA you will need to discuss time considerations with the
Director/Designee supervisor. Note: Positions cannot exceed the time limits outlined above.
