Features
The modular air handling unit design concept provides the flexibility to meet the rising
demand of indoor air quality. A quality range of 33 units with airflows of 1,058 CMH to
85,600 CMH and up to 1,500 pascals total static pressure. Our specially extruded aluminium
profile posts, plastic injected corners and flush fitting panels and doors give the building
designer and occupier a unit of aesthetic and clean lines unsurpassed in the marketplace.
All panels can be removed due to York’s unique locking device achieved by a special
aluminium profile and a safety PVC locking strip.
The YSM/YDM range can be manufactured to almost any configuration to meet customers’
requirements.
Chilled water and DX cooling coils are manufactured from copper tubes with aluminium,
copper or hydrophilic coated fins. Heating can be hot water coil or electric heaters.
The IAQ Air Handling Unit Design
Rigidity
Manufactured from robust extruded aluminium profile, strong plastic injected corner and double skin panel with injected polyurethane
foams insulation adding rigidity to the unit. Polystrene foam insulation can be offered for YDM.
Flexibility
The major components such as fans, cooling coils, heating coils, electric heater, filters etc can be selected as per design requirement to
give complete application flexibility.
Unit can be delivered as completely assembled or completely knock down.
Your Choice Of Blower
You have a choice of blower to meet your design and sound power requirement.
IAQ Design Compatability
Double skin panel construction allow easy inspection, cleaning and maintenance of the interior surface. Moisture intrusion and microbial
growth are inhibited with non hydroscopics properties of polyurethane foam.
Condensate Pan
Three way pitch drain pan design discharges condensate quickly and prevent microbial growth.
Air Tightness
Provided with a combination of closed cell insulation and silicon seals to ensure an air tight construction.
Easy Access
An ingenious patented system, using an aluminium locking profile and a tubular EPDM strip, to ensure fastening of all panels and their
easy dismantling for service and maintenance.
Filtration
Various option of flat filter and bag filter media available to meet the different air quality requirement.

Specifications
CONSTRUCTION
Extruded, aluminium profile joined by 3D plastic rounded corners, forming the structural frame to house all internal components. Double
skin construction is provided by “sandwich” type 25mm/50mm thick panel comprising 0.5mm thick galvanised steel internal skin with
colour bond external skin and injected with polyurethane foam of 40 kg/m3 density, providing an overall thermal transmission coefficient
of U=0.68 W/M2K for 25mm and 50mm thick panel, U=0.34 W/M2K.
Sound reduction effect of the panels (measured under test by R = delta L x 10 log S/A, where delta L is the difference in sound pressure
level across wall in dB, S is the panel surface in M2 and A the acoustic absorption of the test room in M2.) will not be less than:Mid frequency (Hz)

Panels are removable from the frame by means of a patented locking system made out of an extruded aluminium profile, held in place with
one locking strip. This fastening method, together with an enhanced framework gasket ensure air tightness.
Unit sections are mounted on a thick galvanised steel bolted base frame, to assure stability and permit easy lifting, handling and positioning
on site. Unit with sectional split(s), shall be provided with gaskets and sealing material as well as connection clamps, to permit quick and
air tight site assembly.
CONTROL DAMPERS
Air intake, mixing box dampers have contra-rotating blades (on request parallel operation) with driving shaft for servo-motor operation or
level actuator for manual control. The standard galvanised steel blades will turn in counter-action providing a smooth operation requiring no
lubrication.
FILTRATION
Filter sections are provided to house the following options:
Pre-filters of washable type (85% arrestence) or disposable type (85% arrestence) to be arranged in aluminium sliding rails for side
removal. Main filters, of bag type with 85% or 95% efficiency and 533.4mm (21”) deep housing. The section shall be accessible from
either side with access door. Besides, filters such as carbon filter, chemical filter, electronic filter, and HEPA filter can be offered as option.
COILS
Cooling and heating coils are manufactured from copper tubes with aluminium fins bonded to the tubes through mechanical expansion
and all housed in galvanised steel frames. Headers come with threaded male pipe connections and include drain and vent. Coils shall be
tested to 2,400 Kpa, with a maximum design operating pressure of 1,700 Kpa. Condensate pans will be of the “dry pan” design to ensure
complete condensate removal and made of stainless steel 304 insulated with 12 mm closed cell foam.
FAN MOTOR ASSEMBLY
Fan section shall be fitted with double inlet, double width, forward curved or backward inclined centrifugal fan (air foil as option), depending
upon air volume and static pressure requirements. Fan inlets are aerodynamically designed and wheels statically and dynamically balanced
according to rated air flow and speed. Bearings range from either sealed for life ball bearings for smaller fans, block type with self aligning
ball journals and split pillow blocks with grease points for larger fans.
Fan drives (V belt) shall be factory selected and installed to meet the required performances. Motor shall be TEFC type, class F insulation,
IP55 protection. Total fan motor assembly shall be installed on a separate base frame supported and isolated from the unit structure by
spring or rubber isolators. Flexible connections shall be provided between fan discharge and casing.
Options:
- Dual speed motors (2/4,4/8,4/6,6/8 poles)
- Frequency inverter drive for V.A.V applications.
- Varies motor voltage and frequency.

a) COLD BRIDGE FREE DESIGN
The frame of the York Air Handling Unit is manufactured with
bi-material. Internal structure made of extruded fiberglass frame couple with thermal break
property. It was tested up to 8.5C off coil temperature without sweating. Our thermal bridging
factor was found to be at class TBI. (CEN prEN 1886i1997)
b) POSITIVE PRESSURISED SECTION
York had come up with a brand new design which is the “Positive Pressurised Section” to
meet the precise environmental demands of high technology processes used in advanced
commercial and industrial applications. “Positive Pressurised Section” are meant to couple
with York’s AHU after the blower section. Units with “Positive Pressurised Section” are ideal
for clean rooms, clean benches, semiconductor, hospital surgical theatres, food processing,
pharmaceuticals, bio tech and chemical industries in which airborne contaminants must
be carefully controlled. “Positive Pressurised Section” is a unique family of Diffuser and
HEPA Filter Section. The Diffuser increases the pressure of a fluid by slowing it down and
it will help to spread the air evenly to the HEPA Filter. All HEPA Filter are leak tested and are
scanned with laser spectrometer with PSL particles to determine the overall efficiency in
accordance with IES-RP-CCO34-1. There are wide ranges of efficiencies of HEPA Filters
available ranging from 99.99% at 0.3m to 99.999995% at 0.12m. Casing leakage level
(max. leak rate l / s. sqm) rated as class B.
