Aerospace Engineering, Earth Sciences, Electronic Systems Engineering, Inorganic & Physical Chemistry,
Materials Research, Materials Engineering, Organic Chemistry, Product Design & Manufacturing, Solid State and
Chemistry, and Supercomputer Education & Research – Computational Science, and Supercomputer Education &
Research – Computer Systems.
Interdisciplimary program - Energy
ELIGIBILITY
Minimum second-class or equivalent grade in the qualifying examination (which is relaxed to a “pass class” for
SC/ST candidates) as indicated below:
(a) Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field of Engineering/Technology; or Master’s degree in Science in an
appropriate field; or Bachelor's degree in Science (with Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry as subjects of
study) followed by AMIE, AMIIChE, Grad.IETE etc. Specific eligibility criteria for a given
department/centre/unit can be seen from the department’s websites.
Mandatory: Qualifying in one of the following appropriate National Entrance Test (NET) with validity as on 1st January
2016: CSIR-UGC NET for JRF; or UGC-NET for JRF; or DBT JRF; or ICMR JRF; or JEST 2015; or NBHM
Screening Test 2015; or GATE 2014/2015 or INSPIRE Fellows (for Ph D).
(b) ME/ M Tech/ M Sc(Engg)/ M Des. or MS or MBA (post BE/B Tech) qualified candidates who wish to apply for Ph D in
the departments of Engineering Faculty - valid NET qualification is not mandatory but desirable.
(Note that candidates who were called for the interview held in June 2015 in any one of the above mentioned departments are
eligible to apply again.)
GENERAL: Reservation for SC/ST/PWD (Persons with disability) and Kashmiri-Migrant candidates: As per
Government of India regulations.
