Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) introduces the latest member of its microBuck® family of
synchronous buck converters for low-power point-of-load applications. The SiP12116 combines high-side
and low-side n-channel MOSFETs, current-mode constant on-time (CM-COT) control, and a fixed 650
kHz switching frequency in a compact 3 mm by 3 mm DFN10 package. The easy-to-use, fully integrated
device is designed to meet nVidia™ OpenVreg Type 0 specifications, including the package and footprint
requirement.

The Perspective:
The SiP12116 is a high-frequency CM-COT synchronous buck regulator with integrated high-side and
low-side power MOSFETs. Its power stage is capable of supplying up to 3 A of continuous current at a
650 kHz switching frequency. The regulator produces an adjustable output voltage down to 0.6 V from
4.5 V to 15 V input rails to accommodate a variety of applications.
The SiP12116’s CM-COT control delivers ultra-fast transient response and low ripple over the full load
range with minimum output capacitance and no ESR requirements. The device features a built-in soft
start of 1 ms, while offering design simplicity with minimal external components and integrated
compensation. Only seven external components are needed to complete a 3 A buck regulator design in a
total of 100 mm2.
The device offers a full protection set, including cycle-by-cycle current limit, short circuit protection (SCP),
over temperature protection (OTP), and input under-voltage lockout (UVLO). Designed to meet the
nVidia OpenVreg Type 0 specifications, the SiP12116 is available in the 3 mm by 3 mm DFN10 package
with thermal pad.
Availability: Sample and production quantities of the SiP12116 are available now, with lead times of
