Arrivals/Departures
Students should arrive at their accommodation the Sunday prior to the
course start date on the Monday, unless otherwise advised. Accommodation
is booked from Sunday until the Saturday after the course is completed.
Unaccompanied minor service
ELC Experience English is happy to provide a transfer service to students
from 12 to 17 years old who are travelling alone, without their parent or
guardian. This will include a full meet-and-greet service on arrival, and a
member of the staff team will stay at the airport until the flight leaves on
departure. An additional charge will apply for this service.

have appropriate travel and medical insurance in place for the duration of
their stay. ELC Experience, therefore, includes such cover within its pricing

Hotels and Apartments
Staying with a local host is our most popular option and will provide
you with many opportunities to practise your English. All homestays are
located within 45 minutes of the school by public transport. In London,
we can arrange homestays within a 15-30 minute journey time for a
small supplement.
We will be delighted to help you find suitable accommodation in any of
the hotels and apartments that we recommend. A small fee is made for

Arrivals/departures
Students should arrive at their accommodation on Sunday, where the course

cases, it is possible to arrive/depart on other days, but this is subject to
availability and a nightly rate will be charged.
Enrolment
All students will be required to complete a detailed enrolment form if they
wish to study on one of our programmes, and should provide details of an
emergency contact as well as other detailed information about themselves.
Travel and medical insurance
All participants on an ELC Experience English programme are required to
have appropriate travel and medical insurance in place for the duration of
their stay. ELC Experience, therefore, includes such cover within its pricing
on an opt-out basis. If you wish to opt out of this inclusion, evidence of this
provision will be required prior to starting one of our programmes.

Additional course information
• Weekly progress testing: a classroom test to assess how much you have
learnt and establish areas you may need to work on.
• Independent learning plans: a tailor-made plan to help you make the most
of your time outside the classroom and use our facilities effectively (this is
available upon request).
• Individual tutorials every month: a one-to-one meeting with your teacher
to discuss your development, review your goals or focus on a specific area
of study.
• Online resources: a wide range of learning materials and resources that
you can use from the moment you book to up to six months after you
complete your course with us.
• Extra sessions and contact time: a balanced variety of free teacher-led
activities such as book clubs, conversation groups, seminars and themed
social events. You will have to register for these activities at reception as
places may be limited.
• The figures shown in our prices refer to the hours of classroom tuition
provided per week. In the case of IELTS 15, the number of tuition hours is
15 hours.
• 90% attendance is required on all courses at all schools and a certificate
will only be issued if this is fulfilled. Please ask about attendance on our
CELTA and DELTA courses.
• For some courses, such as our examination preparation and executive
courses, a minimum level is required; please ask for more details.
• All of our courses can be taken for a minimum of one week, except
courses which have fixed dates such as our Cambridge ESOL, English Plus,
English for Professionals and CELTA/DELTA courses.
• All courses start on Monday mornings and a pre-course assessment will be
carried out to establish your level.
• Standard and premium courses start every Monday, except on bank
holidays.
• One-to-one tuition can be arranged across the week – please inform us of
your schedule before you book.
• Executive courses start every Monday in Edinburgh and on the first
Monday of every month in London, except on bank holidays.
• Please contact us for start dates of CELTA and DELTA
• All our schools operate year-round but we will be closed on British
public holidays (except York and Edinburgh; please consult us for more
information).

Group travel
We are happy to welcome adult or young-learner groups throughout the
year. If you are interested in bringing a group, please contact us with details
and we will be happy to provide a programme and a quote.
Family packages
We are delighted to welcome families in the summer season. Parents can
study on our adult programmes, and children up to 17 years’ old can study
on our Young Learner programmes. Additionally, our Edinburgh school is
happy to welcome children from the age of 5 years’ old to take part in
activity camps on a half or full-day basis. The activity camp is open to British
nationals and children from abroad.
