Congratulation on your admission to Orange Coast College (OCC)! We look forward to
welcoming you to our campus. In order to help you with your transition to OCC and provide
you with an additional housing option, we have started to work directly with Camden
Apartments. Camden Apartments Complex is located within a very short walking distance, just
across the street from the OCC campus. For more information, you can visit Camden

If you are interested in securing housing through this option, please complete the attached
forms, sign the bottom of this letter and return them to us prior to the deadline. If you are
interested in an option that places you with other roommates, we will do our best to match you
with other students who are also seeking housing. In order for us to help you with this housing
option, please make sure that you thoroughly complete the forms and provide us with as much
information as possible.

Roommate Matching and Rent:
The attached form includes the ranges of rent per month per student for different options. If
your option includes other roommates, we will make every effort to find you other students
who are seeking the same options and are the best match for you. We will then forward your
information to Camden Apartments. A representative from Camden Apartment will contact
you directly to finalize your rental agreement and to provide you with other information related
to your apartment unit and rental.
While we will make every effort to find you roommates, this will depend on the total number of
students who apply to us for this housing option. If we are unable to match you with any other
roommates, we will let you know immediately so that you can arrange for housing on your
own. If you are interested in living with other roommates in a two-bedroom apartment, the
rent will be dependent upon how many other students will be living with you, and what the ongoing rent is at the time that you sign your rental agreement.
Please note that we are providing this to you as an option. While we make every effort to find
you the best match, we cannot guarantee that you will be happy with your roommate selection.
Your other roommate(s) will also be other international students who are accepted to Orange
Coast College (OCC). If you have issues in the future with any of your roommate(s), you are
responsible to resolve these problems on your own. Once you have signed an agreement with
Camden Housing, we do not take responsibility for refunds or changes that you would like to
make. You must abide by all the rules that are outlined in your rental agreement.
Utilities:
Utilities will be arranged through Camden Martinique. After this arrangement is complete, you
will follow the guidelines established by Camden Martinique for payment of utilities.
Deposits:
There will be a $250 holding deposit prior to the arrival. The initial deposit will be $1,000.00.
This is a smaller amount compared to a typical double the rent amount that Camden
Apartments charges.
The apartment requires OCC students to provide financial information which indicates the
sufficient rent coverage during the leasing term, typically 9 months. When you fill out the
Housing Request Information Form-Camden Martinique Apartments, please list the amount of
funding indicated on your I-20 as requested and then list the amount of additional funds or
support you have.
Application fee:
The $35 application fee is waived for international students who are placed through this
option.
Furniture:
Students are responsible to furnish the apartment on their own. Specially arranged furnishing
packages are available through Camden Apartments. You may discuss this option with Camden
Apartment directly once you have been contacted.
Deadline:
If you are interested, you must submit this form before the following deadlines:
Summer application: May 1
Fall application: July 15
Spring application: December 15
If no other roommate is available through this option, you will only be given the one-bedroom
option without any roommate. We will notify you within a week after the application deadline.
Statement of Understanding
By signing this statement, I confirm that I have thoroughly read and understood the conditions
of applying for housing through Coast Community College District included in this letter. I
understand that this information is provided to me as an option and realize that there are no
guarantees that I am provided with the housing option I have selected. Further, I understand
that the College cannot guarantee my satisfaction with the roommates selected. I have no
objection that the Housing Information Form which includes my contact information be shared
with Camden Martinique Apartments so that I can be contacted directly.

⃝ One bedroom with no other roommates. Rent will be in the range of $1,400 to $1,600 per month.
⃝ One bedroom shared with one other roommate (sharing a bedroom with another roommate). Rent
will be in the range of $500 to $800 per student per month.
⃝ Two bedroom apartment shared with one other roommate. The rent will be in the range of $900 to
$1100 per student per month.
⃝ Two bedroom shared with two or three other roommates (depending on the number of students
who are interested in this option). The rent will be in the range of $475 to $650 based on occupancy.
*The actual rate depends on the time of the year, occupancy and the size of the apartment unit. Final rent will be final once
a unit is assigned. Students should expect to pay an amount within the range specified.
