1.0 Banking angle sensor
The angle banking sensor could be connected to the GRIPONE PRO 2 ECU. This device permit to adjust the sensitivity of
traction control based on angle of the bike. On maximum angle rider need more sensitivity to avoid dangerous slide of rear
tyre. When rider pick up the bike he need less sensitivity to improve the acceleration. Before use the sensor the user must
initialize it by software GRIPONE PRO II (included into the GRIPONE PRO 2 kit).
ATTENTION!
The sensor must be fixed on the bike in order to avoid vibrations For that reason between sensor and bike must be
placed some sponge (5-8mm) or layer of rubbur (4-6mm).
2.0 How to connect to GRIPONE PRO 2
The sensor must be connected to connector number 3 (see picture) instead of TPS cable. The placement of sensor must comply
the above figure: the arrow show the front of the bike. The screws of sensor must be on the upper side. The sensor must be placed
as much as possible parallel to the ground. (when the bike is stoped on the stands).
3.0 Initialize of sensor
Before use this sensor the user must initialize. Please follow this steps:

Connect the USB cable to the ECU and switch on
Place the bike as much as possible straight
Run the software GRIPONE PRO II
Click the “FLAG TO BANK ANGLE SENSOR”
Switch the lever to position A
Press “Initialize zero banking”
Switch the lever to position B
Press “Initialize full banking”
Switch the lever to position A
Switch off the ECU
3.0 How to adjust the sensor
The banking angle sensor can reduce or increase the sensitivity of traction control system based on angle of banking. The system is
able to divide the range of banking into three zone: a, b and c.
ZONE A (ZERO BANKING AREA) In this zone the sensitivity and power control’s will be reduced to obtain a better acceleration of
bike. Use the following parameters to adjust this zone:
1. “Banking from 0% to …” : This parameter adjust the zone wideness’s. Example 1: maximum angle of banking is 50°, fixing this
parameter to 40 this zone will be active when the bike angle is between 0% of banking and 40% of banking ( 0° to 20°). Example 2:
maximum angle of banking is 50°, fixing this parameter to 30 this zone will be active when the bike angle is between 0% of banking
and 30% of banking ( 0° to 15°).
2. Riduction of sensitivity: With this parameter the user can decide the amount of reduction of sensitivity (when angle of bike is in
between of this zone).
Reduction = 0 >> Sensitivity still same as normal (no effect from banking angle sensor)
Reduction = 4 >> Sensitivity become much less than normal (big effect from banking angle sensor and more acceleration)
3. Reduction of control: When the bike angle is in this zone and the system are working, the user can decide to reduce the amount of control on the engine (to obtain a better
acceleration).
Reduction = 0 >> amount of control on the engine is same as normal
Reduction = 4 >> amount of control on the engine is much less than normal
ZONE B In this Zone (middle banking angle) the sistem does not change any parameters and keep the sensitivity of system as
normal.
ZONE C (FULL BANKING AREA) ) In this zone the sensitivity will be increased to obtain a safe driveability of bike. Use the
following parameters to adjust this zone::
1. “banking from 100% to …” : This parameter adjust the zone wideness’s. Example 1: maximum angle of banking is 50°, fixing
this parameter to 90 this zone will be active when the bike angle is between 100% of banking and 90% of banking ( 50° to 45°).
Example 2: maximum angle of banking is 50°, fixing this parameter to 70 this zone will be active when the bike angle is between
100% of banking and 70% of banking ( 50° to 35°).
2. Increase of sensitivity: With this parameter the user can decide the amount of increase of sensitivity (when angle of bike is in
between of this zone).
Increase = 0 >> Sensitivity still same as normal (no effect from banking angle sensor)
Increase = 4 >> Sensitivity become much more than normal (big effect from banking angle sensor and more safe)
4.0 Advice
Try to adjust the ECU as explained in to the user manual (included in to the GRIPONE PRO 2 kit).
Then please start from this base setup: ZERO BANKING AREA: 30 - 3 - 2 / FULL BANKING AREA: 70 - 2
Do you need more control on maximum angle? FULL BANKING AREA: 70 - 3
Do you need to accelerate more when you pick up the bike? ZERO BANKING AREA: 35 - 4 - 2
