Special Issue on Resilient Microgrids, 2016
Scheduled Publication Time: September 2016
Microgrids consist of distributed energy resources, energy storage units, loads, and conversion and control systems.
Connected to power distribution systems as controllable units in both interconnected and isolated operation, microgrids can
enhance system efficiency, economy, quality and reliability, which benefits both power systems and electricity end use.
Microgrid development has way passed the early stage of small demonstration projects over a decade ago, and has now
entered the mainstream of technological advancement with the proliferation of results. The microgrid applications and
market in power systems and remote sites have been growing, which necessitates a collection of papers on focused state-ofthe-arts in this field. The main purpose of this Special Issue is to disseminate the recent technological advancement in
microgrids, pertinent to analysis, design, control and application.
Prospective authors are invited to submit their original contributions or survey papers for peer review for publication in
IEEE Journal of Emerging and Selected Topics in Power Electronics. Topics of interest of this Special Issue include but are
not limited to:
•
•
•
•
•
•
Advanced control and conversion in microgrids
