Call for Papers IEEE Journal of Emerging and Selected Topics in Power Electronics Special Issue on Resilient Microgrids, 2016 Scheduled Publication Time: September 2016 Microgrids consist of distributed energy resources, energy storage units, loads, and conversion and control systems. Connected to power distribution systems as controllable units in both interconnected and isolated operation, microgrids can enhance system efficiency, economy, quality and reliability, which benefits both power systems and electricity end use. Microgrid development has way passed the early stage of small demonstration projects over a decade ago, and has now entered the mainstream of technological advancement with the proliferation of results. The microgrid applications and market in power systems and remote sites have been growing, which necessitates a collection of papers on focused state-ofthe-arts in this field. The main purpose of this Special Issue is to disseminate the recent technological advancement in microgrids, pertinent to analysis, design, control and application. Prospective authors are invited to submit their original contributions or survey papers for peer review for publication in IEEE Journal of Emerging and Selected Topics in Power Electronics. Topics of interest of this Special Issue include but are not limited to: • • • • • • Advanced control and conversion in microgrids Microgrid-ready inverters and smart inverters Architectures (ac, dc and hybrid) of microgrids Energy storage and distributed resources Energy management systems and strategies Resiliency and performance of microgrids • • • • • • Protection and power quality in microgrids Analysis, modeling, design, operation and application of microgrids Forecasts of resources and loads in microgrids Integration and system impact of microgrids Standards and policies relevant to microgrids Smart city and smart infrastructure All manuscripts must be submitted through Manuscript Central at http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/jestpe-ieee. Submissions must be clearly marked “Special Issue on Microgrids, 2016” on the cover page. When uploading your manuscripts, please select the “Special Issue” type for your submissions. You may refer to http://www.pels.org for general information about electronic submission through Manuscript Central. Manuscripts submitted to this Special Issue will be reviewed separately and will be handled by the guest editorial board noted below.
