IMPACT MAVERICK’S AFTER DARK SALARY: $375.00 OPENING DATE: August 24, 2012 (Applications available Monday, August 27) APPLICATION DEADLINE: September 21, 2012 at 4 PM Position: September 2012 – May 2013 Date of Appointment: October 5, 2012 RESPONSIBILITIES: Hold 11 office hours Attend and facilitate weekly committee meetings, including agenda creation, group bonding, program selection, and volunteer coordination. Attend all required retreats including Winter retreat January 9th and 10th. Attend weekly board meetings comprised of 5pm-6pm Tuesday and Thursday through Fall 2012 Semester. Spring Semester times are TBA Weekly one on one with advisor Work with Vice-President of Recruitment and Retention to conduct event evaluation and assessment, including survey before and after events. Produce at minimum one theme based late night alternative event during Fall and Spring Semesters based on student feedback and the needs of the MSU, Mankato study body. Work is RSO Graduate Assistant to partner with at minimum three outside organizations for each event. Attend and support all IMPACT events when requested. Notify leadership of absence at least 48 hours prior to each event. Hold monthly meetings with Public Relations Chair(s) to facilitate graphic design, press release, and other external media requests. Consult with Public Relation chair on appropriate timeline for submission and deadlines for graphic requests and press releases. Research, contact, and contract performers including, but not limited to bands, comedians, variety performers, and Audio/Visual production companies. Program a wide variety of innovative and memorable events that represent the variety of musical styles across campus. Consistent evaluation of programs and projects with the appropriate advisor according to the importance, relevance, and needs of the University and community. Responsible for completing the necessary IMPACT and Student Activities Office reports: event evaluations, program proposals, programming worksheet, etc. Adherence to all University and Student Activities Office policies. Sensible and effective usage of the budget to provide programming and services to the campus with the goal of a $0 balance by the end of the spring semester. Responsibility to keep the Student Activities Office informed of all programs and service information. Create day of plan organization including volunteer coordination, event logistics, ticket sales, and other details for each event. Manage a $16,000+ budget including spending, tracking, fundraising, and balancing Activity provide opportunities to build committee membership and development including, but limited to leadership opportunities, delegation of tasks and responsibilities, skill development, and committee participation. Complete at least one innovative promotional campaign for each event. Attend the National Association of Campus Activities regional conference with the newly elected board. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 2.5 Cumulative GPA, Experience with student programming, Ability to meet communication and meeting requirements throughout summer term. OTHER CONSIDERATIONS: Ability to motivate others, ability to delegate tasks to others, effective interpersonal communication, ability to set deadlines for completion of tasks. Effective written and oral communications, flexibility with programming objectives, experience with budgeting and fiscal management. Ability to role model appropriate behavior both on and off campus, experience with leadership skills and competencies, ability to work with other campus organizations. Strong public speaking and persuasion skills. Assertive negotiation practices. Remains objective during periods of stress, adapt to public speaking, including large profile interviews, Ability to plan, strategize, and process large events. Length of service on existing IMPACT committees. Thoroughly complete tasks on time.
