the projects would be developed in the art classroom.
2-3 Lesson plans
 One team one for experience, 5 pts
 The student will write one individual lesson plan. These lesson plans will use the Visual and
Performing Arts Standards for the State of California as their objective model. Each lesson will
include a modeling section that shall focus on student creativity. Each lesson will also have a
backup plan to ensure it is flexible to the student responses. Each lesson will also include a
section on how to encourage problem solving and risk taking. 10 pts
 The last one is to be taught to the class. Only Rubric and Standards are required to be handed in.
see below
Lesson plan presentation
 One of these lessons will be presented to the class. The class will ask question or pose situations
to which the student will respond. The Student will develop several ways to respond to art
making issues.
 Example: a student is extremely frustrated, or finds the material difficult to touch).

The lesson that is presented shall also use an aspect of California as the Historical and Cultural
Context. This will give the student a good collection of California Culture from which to pull in
their future classroom

This project that is taught by the student will include a critique portion where the formal
language of art will be used to describe, analyze, and evaluate the finished work.

The student will present their rubric and rational for that rubric to the class. Discussion will be
required so that the student can provide a solid foundation for the rubric.

After the presentation a written reflection on the experience and any changes to the lesson will be
submitted with the lesson plan. The class will also write a brief reflection of the project
experience to be given to the student anonymously.
Brief topic presentation:
 Each student will be assigned an art educator or art education issue to do a 10 minute
presentation using PowerPoint

The presentation will include a bibliography to be handed in.

The presentation will be graded on factual accuracy, understanding of topic and depth of
presentation. Please USE IMAGES, NOT WORDS in your PowerPoint.
Semester plan.
The student will plan out a semester using the Calendar from a California School. The area of study
is the student’s choice

is not ready for critique at the beginning of class. You are allowed to turn in only three projects late.
You may not make up any of the last student directed projects. There are no excused late submissions
After the third late project your work will not be accepted.
