Document design—analysis of a syllabus Based upon your understanding of McMurrey’s chapters on document design (Chapter 7 “Headings,” Chapter 8 “Lists,” Chapter 12 “Highlighting and Emphasis,” and Chapter 13 “Business Commuications”), analyze a syllabus from another course that you are taking this semester or that you took the previous semester. Directions Write up your analysis using the memo form that I’ve provided, demonstrating your ability to format documents in Word. Your analysis section should demonstrate your mastery of the material in the chapters on document design. Whenever possible, refer to specific details to support your claims; to do so, you may find it useful to highlight or annotate the syllabus that you append. In making your recommendations, I encourage you to think about your needs as a student and about how the syllabus helps or hinders your understanding and accomplishing the course goals (as well as your goals). You must append a photocopy/printout of the syllabus. Evaluation Your analysis is due the next meeting of the class and is worth 25 points: format (and photocopy of syllabus) analysis recommendations/suggestions 5 points 15 points 5 points
