Evidence for area of need [SEMESTER/YEAR] – 2. Action(s) taken [SEMESTER/YEAR] – Professor Glazer changed the structure of this class in fall 2007 so that all the students worked from the same script (The Scene by Theresa Rebeck). In the past students selected different scripts. Having the exact script allowed students to work from an identical directing lexicon. This produced great unity and clarity in class discussions and presentations. Professor Glazer will continue to use this model when the class is taught again in fall 2008 Professor Buddy Butler made no significant changes in TA 112 this semester. One production was added to the tour schedule, No Saco De La Escuela (I Don’t Get Nothin’ From School) by Luis Valdez. The production toured high schools, colleges and universities in this area. 3. Evidence for effect of actions on student learning [SEMESTER/YEAR] Page 4 of 6 Theatre, BA Spring 2008 Program Assessment Report #4 Demonstrate how to plan, perform, produce, write and direct for stage and screen; demonstrate professional-level skills of production; design for and operate contemporary technologies 1. Evidence for area of need [SEMESTER/YEAR] – 2. Action(s) taken Spring 2008 The student’s presentations of the 10 minute play and production notebook supported the new teaching methodology used by Professor Glazer in TA 116 for fall 2007. The quality of both assessment tools was exceptional, and Professor Glazer will continue the assessment instruments and teaching methodology in fall 2008. Spring 2008 Professor Elizabeth Poindexter will teach TA 153 in fall 2008. She will continue to use the teaching methodology used in the fall requiring research and design productions. As usual, she will select different scripts for the students to work with depending on the Department’s productions and other productions in the area. The assessment tools and methodology will continue as in fall 2007. Spring 2008 No overall changes were made to assess this SLO for TA 112 during the spring semester. Students in the company were required to learn Spanish as it relates to the subject matter of the above production, thereby broadening their multi-ethnic base. This requirement strengthened the performance quality of the shows. 3.
