Current Information Current Course Information in Catalog: Course Prefix & Number: ECE 3530 Course Title: Developmental Aspects of Movement and Physical Domain Credit Hours: 3 Prerequisites: Admission to Birth –Five program, ECE 2205 and ECE 3350 Course Description: This course is designed to provide teacher candidates with opportunities to understand the importance of movement in the development and education of young children. Movement exploration, including problem solving and guided discovery activities, will be studied and experienced. Candidates will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of children's games and rhythmic activities as well as create and implement these activities to meet the needs of young children who differ in culture, ability and language. Included in this course are 10 hours of observation and interaction with a learner in a naturalistic setting. Verification of professional liability insurance is required. Current use of technology will be integrated as communication and instructional tools. II. Intensive five week field experience and interaction with a learner in a naturalistic setting will be included. Verification of professional liability insurance is required. Current use of technology will be integrated as communication and instructional tools. III. Justification for Change This course will be a part of the methods block. It addresses teaching one of the domains of the young child.
