01.10 EdD Concentration in EDL KENNESAW STATE UNIVERSITY GRADUATE PROGRAM/CONCENTRATION PROPOSAL Educational Leadership Educational Doctorate (EdD) Leadership for Learning Executive Summary The Education Doctorate concentration in Leadership for Learning is a post-master’s professional degree developed under the umbrella of the Bagwell College of Education’s and Professional Teacher Education Unit’s approved EdS/EdD in Leadership for Learning. Candidates for the EdD in Leadership for Learning complete 9 credit hours of the core courses, 12 credit hours in the Educational Leadership concentration, 12 credit hours of electives, and a minimum of 9 dissertation hours. The EdD in Leadership for Learning is an extension of the Educational Leadership EdS in Leadership for Learning. The PSC performance-based residency requirements for PL-6 certification are met prior to completion of the doctoral program. The four doctoral concentration courses have embedded performance activities thus extending the field-based component from the EdS to the EdD. All course requirements have been linked to the EdS/EdD Performance Outcomes in Leadership for Learning which help clarify exactly what characteristics and behaviors candiates should demonstrate. The performance outcomes are consistent with the NCATE, SACS, and KSU Assurance of Learning initiatives since they describe the knowledge, skills, and dispositions KSU graduates must demonstrate to impact positively student learning in P-12 schools. The KSU Educational Leadership EdD program is unique and distinctive The program has no counterpart in the state.
