New Business: Dr. Marie Holbein Bagwell College of Eduation Department of Educational Leadership: Coaching Endorsement Proposal Coaching Endorsement Executive Summary EDCO 7010 Intro to Coaching EDCO 7020 Using Data for Coaching EDCO 7030 Applied Coaching: Developing, Implementing & Maintaining a Coaching Plan EDCO 7010 Vision/Mission Profile Rubric EDCO 7020 Assessment Profile Rubric EDCO 7030 Development & Implementation of a Coaching Plan Rubric This proposed Coaching Endorsement program is developed to comply with the PSC standards for coaching approved May 15, 2009. Candidates will develop the ability to build culture and relationships and to understand and to support the educational process of all students, most specifically those from culturally and liguistically diverse backgrounds and underrepresented populations. The program will prepare teacher leaders and building/system leaders to more effectively assist novice teachers in their transition to the profession through improved induction/mentoring programs. Recommendations by the Committee: In Section V, Program Admission Requirements remove the words “expected”, “typically” and “provisional”. The degree is designed to prepare leaders to function effectively in distributed leadership roles and contribute to a sustained emphasis on quality by buiding a community of leaders for learning in schools who have the knowedge, skills and dispositions to positively impact student learning for all and to assist their colleagues in doing the same. Dr. Susan Stockdale Department of Secondary & Middle Grades Education: Educational Assessment & Measurement Certificate Program Executive Summary New Course Proposal: EDUC 7710 Principles, Trends and Issues in Standardized Educational Testing EDUC 7710 Syllabus This assessment certificate teaches educators how to use data to meet the needs of diverse learners and is designed to challenge candidates at an advanced level of achievement in educational assessment and measurement. Courses are focused on using data effectively to improve learning in P-12 schools. Dr. Mike Dishman Elementary & Early Childhood Education, Inclusive Education, Secondary & Middle Grades Education and Educational Leadership Departments: Teacher Leader Endorsement Proposal Executive Summary New Course Proposal: EDUC 7725 Best Practices in Teaching & Learning in Content Field Course Changes: EDL 7100 Leadership Theory and Practice EDL 7305 Data Analysis and School Improvement NCATE/PSC Compliance Faculty Assessor & Assessment Record NCATE Exhibit A NCATE Exhibit B The teacher leadership endorsement is a centerpiece of Georgia’s “Race To The Top” application and is viewed as the future “capstone” certification for Georgia teachers. The goal is to prepare leaders of learning at every level in the school to improve student achievement and organizational effectiveness in their school. Recommendation of the Committee: Change Admission Requirements to contain “have a Masters or be in a Masters program”.
