What Do I Need To Think
About
 What kind of environment do you want to develop

What do I need to do?
 Obtain required permission for video recording.
 Examine your plans for the learning segment.
What do I need to do?
 Provide clips – showing you interacting with
students
 Literacy & Math, SPED (1-2- together no more than
15 minutes)
 PE - 1––2 video clips (totaling no more than 20
minutes in length)
 History 2 video clips (each no more than 10
minutes in length)

Handbook
Turn to the section in your handbook
that specifies how many videos you will
need to submit and important activities
you will want to capture.
What do I need to do?
 Determine whether you will feature the whole class
or a targeted group of students within the class.
 Optional – provide evidence of students’ language
use – this can also be accomplished through the
student work samples analyzed in Task 3
What Do I Need To Do?
 Select 1-2 video clips to submit and verify that the
clips meet the following: (see your specific
handbook for specifics)
 A video clip must be continuous and unedited, with
no interruption in the events
 Check the video and sound quality to ensure that you
and your students can be SEEN and HEARD
 Do not include the name of the state, school, or district
in your video. Use first names only for all individuals
in the video.
What Do I Need To Do?
 Respond to the prompts listed in the Instruction
Commentary after viewing the video
 Determine if additional information is needed to
understand what you and the students are doing in
the video clips
 If there are graphics, texts, or images that are not
clearly visible in the video, or comments that are not
clearly heard, insert digital copies or transcriptions at
the end of the Instruction Commentary (no more than
2 pages).
What do I need to write?
 Instructional Commentary – Task 2 – no more than 6
single-spaced pages, including the prompts
 1. Which lesson or lessons are shown in the video clips –
provide lesson plan number
 2. Promoting a Positive Learning Environment
 Refer to scenes in the video clips – How did you
demonstrate mutual respect for, rapport with, and
responsiveness to students with varied needs and
backgrounds, and challenge students to engage in learning

 Turn to the section in your
handbook to examine the prompts.

Assessed?
 Your evidence will be assessed with rubrics 6 - 10
 Turn to the rubric 6 in your booklet
