General Information
VA Work-study students are not employees of APSU. Financial compensation is paid by the U.S. Department
of Veterans Affairs. To be eligible for VA work-study, you must be certified for at least ¾ time enrollment
during the semesters/terms you work and must be using one of the VA Education programs: Chapter 30
Montgomery GI Bill, Chapter 33 Post 9/11 GI bill, Chapter 35 dependent educational benefits, or Chapter 31
Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment. You will only be paid for hours in which you complete VA related
work. The wage is $7.25/hour and is tax-exempt. Funding for the VA Work Study program is based on federal
budgetary considerations. This means that there is no guarantee of ongoing employment.
