In his painting “Sticks & Stones,” artist Jerry Caron muses on an intimate detail common in our region. The enigma of stone walls found in deep woods speaks to the changing nature of our landscape. Sometimes woodlands reclaim their place and we are left with only a reminder of the vision of an earlier generation.
Jerry Caron is a New England artist who has served on the faculty of the Lyme College of Fine
Arts, where he served both as faculty adviser on the Board of Trustees and as Dean of Students.
His work has been featured on the cover of Yankee magazine and his illustrations have appeared in the Time magazine almanac and Backpacker magazine. The landscape of southern Vermont is among his favorite haunts for painting.
