Project objectives
Interactive platform for the world talent to connect in a simple, useful & creative way
Create a general platform for people of similar interests to connect.
A platform to share/gain knowledge
Showcase Talent
Collaborate & network with other people.
2. Problem statement
There are different platforms for technical professionals to connect like LinkedIn & Resu.me but lately
there has not been a common portal for other skills like dance, music, & sports, etc.. Users of these
interests often try to find other users of similar interests through Facebook and Google+.
3. Approaches intended to use
 Agile Methodology – We are planning to move with Agile approach where development progress is
managed with tasks divided in small cycles planning for the next phase based on the progress of the
current phase.
 Create a web interface to be used on any platform to showcase & learn more about other interests as
well.
4. Software/hardware/platform
a. Software: JQuery, PHP, MySQL, HTML /5, CSS3, JavaScript
b. Hardware: Web based portal. Development concurrent on Windows, iOS
c. Platform: Web Portal
5. Expected outcomes
a. Target to finish the UI with 50% of complete functionality.
b. Test Cases for User Interfaces
c. Publish the complete portal on the server and establish connectivity.
6. Initial work Plan/schedule
a. Brainstorm on the idea of the website.
b. Decide on the expected UI – Came up with screen designs & discussed with professor.
c. Start on the development by week starting 9/21/2014
7. Novelty (be clear why this is a “new” system)
It is not a job portal. It is a connection at an informal level where people can teach what they
know and learn more and more. Currently there is no such system available on a large scale.
Actors and musicians have to host their talent showcase on sites like youtube and then share the
links with other users through Facebook, Google+ and other social networking. This platform
will be a One-Place solution to address this.
