Why Do We Have to Have 2 Hour Delays?
Sometimes at XXXXXXXXX Elementary, there are 2 Hour Delay
days.
There are two reasons there might be a 2 Hour Delay:
1. There is bad weather or some other reason that the buses
can’t get around to pick up all of the kids on time.
2. Or, the district schedules a day for teachers to get some
of their other work done. Teachers come in at the regular
time to have meetings and do paperwork.
On 2 Hour Delay Days, students come to school 2 hours later
than usual. If school usually starts at 9 AM, students won’t
come in until 11 AM. Sometimes students sleep in late on 2 hour
delay days. Or, they might get up and watch TV or play for
awhile before going to school. Some kids might even do their
homework in the morning instead of the night before.
What do you do on a 2 Hour Delay Day?
There is one thing that is difficult about 2 Hour Delay Days. The
schedule gets changed a lot. Instead of having Language Arts
in the morning and then lunch and recess, some classes go to
lunch shortly after they get to school. Every thing changes on 2
Hour Delay Days.
But, that’s OK. You’ll know about these changes by looking at
your schedule. If you have any questions, ask Mrs. XXXXXX or
Mr.XXXXXX. A 2 Hour Delay Day will be easier if you know just
what to expect. If you are not sure about something, ask a
teacher.
