Why Do We Have to Have 2 Hour Delays? Sometimes at XXXXXXXXX Elementary, there are 2 Hour Delay days. There are two reasons there might be a 2 Hour Delay: 1. There is bad weather or some other reason that the buses can’t get around to pick up all of the kids on time. 2. Or, the district schedules a day for teachers to get some of their other work done. Teachers come in at the regular time to have meetings and do paperwork. On 2 Hour Delay Days, students come to school 2 hours later than usual. If school usually starts at 9 AM, students won’t come in until 11 AM. Sometimes students sleep in late on 2 hour delay days. Or, they might get up and watch TV or play for awhile before going to school. Some kids might even do their homework in the morning instead of the night before. What do you do on a 2 Hour Delay Day? There is one thing that is difficult about 2 Hour Delay Days. The schedule gets changed a lot.
