Students from other cultures often become acclimated to U.S. culture through language-based instruction. The Georgia Department of Education provides the following guidelines for identifying students who may be identified as an English Language Learner (ELL): Students whose native/home/first language is other than English Students who have difficulty speaking, reading, writing or understanding the English language to the extent that their language skills would be a barrier to their success in the classroom Home Language Survey Language test-W-APT K-29-30 not eligible 28 with reading and writing >/= 12 not eligible ACCESS< 5 in February Reading, speaking, writing and listening K-3 45 minutes every day. 4 Two segments of 50 minutes a day K-3 pull out and 4th5th inclusion. Students earn their t-shirts at 25 miles! A gold medal is awarded to each child that reaches 100 miles at our year end ceremony!
