sessions to attend. These sessions include topics such as itslearning, Performance-based assessments,
Strategies for ELL students, Co-teaching, Engaging students in higher level questions, and others. Sessions
will be held at various middle schools throughout the district.
Individual and grade level subject area collaborative planning time to work on planning units and pre- and
post-assessments, and analyzing assessment data.

In addition, teachers attend Professional Learning Wednesdays at least 1x a
month during their planning time. Session topics range from technology to assessment training to
learning about instructional strategies to the new teacher evaluation system (TKES). Additionally,
Faculty Meetings are held once a month, with the focus on highlighting excellent instructional practices
that are happening at PGMS. Teachers present on successful instructional strategies they are using in
their classrooms. Lastly, subject area Vertical Team meetings occur once a quarter, with grade level
subject area collaborative planning teams meeting at a minimum one time per week.
