1C News Important Dates for December Dec. 15—Winter Concert @ 2:00 Dec. 18—Holiday Party @ 2:30 Dec. 21-Jan.3—Winter Break Dear Parents: I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving break. Please make sure your child is coming to school with appropriate clothing. If there is snow, children must have jacket, boots, snow pants, hats and gloves to be able to play in the snow. If a child is not dressed appropriately they will either have to stay on the sidewalk or stay inside. Also, please make sure to try and label as much of your child’s snow gear as possible. You would be amazed at how many snow pants and gloves can look alike. Students should have brought home their spelling lists and their reading logs on Monday. This week’s pattern is the –ing, -ang, -ong families. Please review the See/Say words and work on the patterns with your child. In math we are working on Place Value. In reading we have taken the district local assessment this past week and are continuing our work on the Main Topic and details for non-fiction and parts of a story (characters, setting, beginning, middle and end) for fiction. In social studies we will be discussing needs and wants just in time for the holiday. Please continue to help students remember to return their homework on Mondays and library books on Tuesdays. A sign-up for the Winter Party went home on Monday. If you are interested in helping or donating please return the form by Thursday, December 10th. As always if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to call me at school, send a note or email me at charles.corbett@cusd200.org . Have a great week! Mr. Corbett
