Important Dates for March

Dear Parents:
Spring is here! The second trimester ends last week and report cards go
home today. Please go over your child’s report card and find both areas that are
strengths and an area or two to work on. Conferences are not conducted this
trimester but if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me.
Report cards and the signed envelopes are due back next Friday, March 18th. We
will be starting to work on phone numbers and addresses for the children. If you
would rather your child learn your cell phone number rather than your home phone
number please let me know that number and I will change it. I am going off the
phone numbers and addresses that the office has, so if it has changed please let me
know. Please return the attached form at the bottom so that I make sure we are
learning the correct numbers. Many of the children do not know this information so
please help them study at home too.
In reading we have been working on Flex reading with the other first grades.
Some kids stay in the classroom with me, some see Miss Espe, some see Miss
Deliberto, and some see other reading teachers. We continue to work on decoding
and finding the Main Idea. In math we have started word problems and graphing. In
spelling next week the pattern is –ay. Please continue to help me remind your child
that their reading logs should come back to school on Mondays and library books are
due back on Tuesdays.
