What it is?
This voluntary position is a great opportunity for an undergraduate student to take on a
position of responsibility to help increase the number of students and staff participating in
tennis weekly, with the support of both the LTA and the university.
Key responsibilities
 To volunteer 4-6 hours per week throughout the academic year.
 To facilitate the provision of an appropriate menu of Tennis opportunities within the
university setting.
 To forge links with the local Tennis community encouraging and enabling students to
gain additional participation opportunities in community settings.
 To act as a key communication point between the Tennis community and the
student population
 To promote wider Tennis opportunities, in particular coach, official and volunteer
development opportunities
 To monitor and report to LTA and Nottingham Trent University the number of
students involved in the programmes delivered

Enthusiastic approach and a positive, “can do” attitude
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work in a team and on own initiative
IT and social media literate, capable of raising the profile of tennis activity
Passionate about developing sport, particularly tennis
Motivational attitude which inspires those around them to engage in tennis
Strong organisation skills – capable of organising weekly sessions and standalone
events
