The committee requested a committee roster be distributed; completed 9/10/2014. An agreeable
meeting time and date is to be established; completed 9/19/2014. Meetings will occur the first
Tuesday of the Month from 1pm to 2pm and will meet in Research Bldg. 6 beginning in
November; an alternate location was secured for October.
The committee has requested that purchasing compile and bring to the next meeting a list of
active research contracts, a copy of the research program that was developed at MD Anderson
and any buying opportunities available.
Data Analytics is looking into the possibility of creating a website or other mechanism for
individual PIs to share better pricing found. We hope to have an update by the next meeting.
Some possible topics to begin evaluation for savings included -80 freezers, fetal bovine serum,
and reagents.
