 Routine and frequent updates from the
CNL Implementation Task Force (ITF)
 Quarterly surveys to each partnership –
1-2 questions from the ITF and AACN
staff regarding progress to date and
issues that must be addressed
 List serve for exchange of information on
best practices, progress, questions, and
calls for additional support

 Recommendations regarding a uniform set of
evaluation parameters that can be used for
short-term, local evaluation
 Long-term planning for a large scale evaluation
post implementation of the CNL practice sites
 Follow-up meetings, regionally based.
 Regional partnership meetings - Focus of first
regional meeting will be a design workshop for
design of the practice model.
 Working paper on design of the practice
environment and transformation of the practice.
 Statement on differentiation of the CNL and CNS
roles – work in process with several individuals
to produce this document.
 Statement on model expectations for practice
site preceptors and faculty mentors
 Frequent updates on progress to date
across the partnerships and how various
issues are being addressed.
 Reference lists, best practice resources,
and web sites for practice and curriculum
work
 AACN will work with Commission on
Collegiate Nursing Education regarding
progress
 Reports on collaborative work with other
organizations, e.g. NCSBN, ANCC,
AONE, groups representing advanced
practice, other disciplines, and
consulting groups.
 Progress reports on certification
examination development.
 Template on press releases for use at
the local level to give local news and
policy makers information about this
transformational work
 Timeline for CNL ITF work
 Follow-up summit in 15-18 months to
bring all demonstration projects together
for reporting, best practice sharing, and
networking
What we need from
Education/Practice Partnership
Projects
 Commitment to fundamental redesign of
the practice environment and the
educational experience – this is not
incremental change.
 Response to surveys to be circulated
every 3mos – SHORT - on progress to
date.
 Type of information to be gathered:


Steering committee composition and
progress, members from education and
practice, and how work is progressing on
practice transformation and curricular
revisions.
Challenges you are encountering on in the
above work
 Partners you are working with – other
local and regional connections that have
been established.
 Recruitment plans for the program and
marketing to students, clinicians, and
faculty.
 Timeline for progress at your site
 Attendance at regional meetings
 Following this meeting, we will send a
letter to all partners identifying next steps
and expectations for leadership
involvement.
