The Chou Chatter Room 18 News April 8, 2016 achou@fcusd.org tmuro@fcusd.org tmuro@fcusd.org REMEMBER: The Famous Person from History Oral Reports are due this coming Wednesday, April 13th! We will start sharing the reports first thing in the morning, so it might be best if everyone comes to school already in costume. Students can bring a change of clothes or wear their school clothes underneath their costume. However, they are welcome to stay in costume the entire day since we will be referring to the students as their famous person all day. We finished Topic 13 in math (counting money), and we won’t start on Topic 14 until we revisit Topic 11 (adding/subtracting/estimating 3-digit numbers). This topic will help them be successful for Topic 14 (adding/subtracting/estimating money). Once those topics are complete, we only have a couple more to get through before the end of the year!! Please include your child in counting money over the weekend, this will prepare them for their test on Monday. This week in writing we focused on writing a “friendly letter”, and addressed it to Ms. Shishido. The students had the chance to brainstorm; to share their favorite moments with her and to wish her well! Mrs. Gregg, our librarian, will be out for the month of April, and our substitute librarian is unable to hold our time slot on Thursdays. Therefore, Ms. Muro’s class has graciously offered to share their time slot with us on Wednesdays. We will be alternating each week until Mrs. Gregg returns. Our next visit to the library is this Wednesday, April 13th. I want to give a special thank you to all the parent volunteers who have come into to support the transition and take on new tasks. Ms. Muro and her parent volunteers have also helped out greatly, (including getting homework packets together for us!) THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!! ***Continue to check for the math fact tests that come home every Tuesday and Thursday. Practice, Practice, Practice!!! Have a great weekend! Mrs. Chou
