DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY K.E Society’s RAJARAMBAPU INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY (An Autonomous Institute) Rajaram Nagar, Sakharale- Village, Sangli- Dist, MH-415 414 2014-2015 ABSTRACT With the advent of instant mobile messaging applications, traditional SMS is in danger of losing its reign as the king of mobile messaging. Application like “WhatsApp” allows mobile users to send real-time text messages to individuals or groups of friends with no cost. Simply, “WhatsApp” Messenger is a cross-platform mobile messaging app which allows to exchange messages without having to pay for message. But with this existing application also, we found that there are some drawbacks, like it does not display Online-Status of friend, it does not support Multi-messaging, it cannot give proper user interface and it also not provide a global identity of user. So, we decided to overcome these problems of “WhatsApp” by implementing our android app which named as “FreeChat”. By our proposed app we try to give Online-Status of user when it is online. By “FreeChat” user can also able to send same or different message to multiple friends or group of friends at a time, user can set its global identity over a network. Our main aim to develop this app is not only for social communication purpose but also for providing security to women by its new added feature called “Women Security”.
