This will be my 10th year teaching 1st Grade! I took off for 7 years to stay home with my girls. Folders Going Home Daily Homework Folder (black) Homework will be sent home on Monday in a packet and due on Friday. Math and language worksheets Reading Log (read for 20 min.) I Love Reading Books (words follow patterns taught in class, keep) High Frequency Words (keep at home) These words will be tested at the end of each theme which is about 3 weeks. This must be signed and returned (orange card) 4th- phone call, note or conference (red card) If behavior continues, a conference will be scheduled with the principal Absences, Tardies, & Early Dismissals Absences Call the office Missed work will be in cubbies Independent Study: Absent more than 5 school days Get the form before the absence from the office I will compile work and send it home just before the absence Please have work completed upon return to school Tardies After 8:25 (early readers) and after 9:10 (late readers) get Late Slip from the office Early Dismissals Sign child out in office prior to pick up Class Business Forms (Please complete and return ASAP) Book Bags will come home daily (1 leveled book to start and possibly 1 book from genre choice later~ may or may not be leveled. Rewarded for bringing back the bag each day. See handout in the book bag the first day. This will start Aug. 24th. Any and all donations of books are always greatly appreciated to add to the baskets.
