All About Me
 My background
 Mississippi State University – BS in Education
 National University – MS in Curriculum and Instruction
 Married, 3 children~ girls (college student at UNLV, 9th
grader at Folsom High and 6th grader at Sutter Middle)
 My experience
 I’ve been teaching for 16 years
 I taught for 4 years in Mississippi, 10 years at Folsom
Hills Elem., and 2 years at Cordova Meadows.
 This will be my 10th year teaching 1st Grade!
 I took off for 7 years to stay home with my girls. While
at home I was a cheer head coach, Girl Scout troop
leader, room mom, classroom volunteer, team mom, and a
board member for my girls swim team

Mornings are not the best time to stop by the classroom. I’m usually
rushing as I have two girls going to school at different times.
Please schedule a time with me if you have a concern. Thursdays~ I
have staff meetings right after school. I can usually work it out if I
know in advance on any other day.
Folders Going Home

Daily Homework Folder (black)
 Homework will be sent home on Monday in a packet and due on Friday.
 Math and language worksheets
 Reading Log (read for 20 min.)
 I Love Reading Books (words follow patterns taught in class, keep)
 High Frequency Words (keep at home) These words will be tested
at the end of each theme which is about 3 weeks.


 Tickets -drawing on Friday
 Group points – group with most points in a week get to go to the prize box

Consequences
 1st- Verbal warning
 2nd-Time-out (yellow card)
 3rd- Lose recess/privilege and complete behavior Log. This must be signed and returned
(orange card)
 4th- phone call, note or conference (red card)
If behavior continues, a conference will be scheduled with the principal
Absences, Tardies, & Early Dismissals
 Absences
 Call the office
 Missed work will be in cubbies
 Independent Study: Absent more than 5 school days
 Get the form before the absence from the office
 I will compile work and send it home just before the
absence
 Please have work completed upon return to school
 Tardies
 After 8:25 (early readers) and after 9:10 (late readers) get

 Sign child out in office prior to pick up

Book Bags will come home daily (1 leveled book to start and possibly 1 book
from genre choice later~ may or may not be leveled. Rewarded for bringing
back the bag each day. See handout in the book bag the first day. This will
start Aug. 24th. Any and all donations of books are always greatly
appreciated to add to the baskets.
Student of the Week
 In the bag: poster, photos, favorite book, one item.
Snack (may bring a healthy snack to eat at recess) no candy or sugary
snacks
Lunch pay online at www.mymealtime.com or bring lunch in a labeled lunch
box
Lost & Found
 Please label your child's belongings
Dress Code (see handbook…no flip-flops)

 Treats welcome (store bought only~ no cake to cut), no drinks, 27
students…we serve at lunch time.
