How to Help Your Child Prepare for a Test in History Here's what you can do to help prepare your child prepare for tests. Every night, check with him/her to see if he/she gets new notes. If so, have him/her read them over and quiz him/her lightly about them. That way he/she will be familiar as to where they are when I review them the next day. Then he/she can highlight what I review, because that is what will most likely be on the exams. Then ask him/her questions frontward and backwards about each highlighted statement. (If the sentence is "Columbus discovered America.", ask her "Who discovered America?" and "What did Columbus discover?".) Then do this the night before an exam. Some kids do well with flashcards also.
