Meeting Notes
Walk a Mile (in her Shoes) Walk

Walk A Mile: Carson said his chapter is in support of this event. David Nevins is in
support too; David said CPR could assist with marketing. Carson said that he will line up
a meeting with Jimmy and Kate to try to still shoot for this fall.
o
Past Meeting Notes/Summary: Males walk from the city park to campus in women’s red
high heels to send a message about sexual violence and sexual assault awareness.
Clare noted that the transgender community may have some concerns about this event;
transgender women may find it insensitive for males to be walking/wearing the red high
heels. Clare said that she’d be happy to meet with Carson to discuss this further.
Madelon shares the concerns as well; education before and/or after the event may be
helpful as a similar event when men were walking between buildings in high heels a few
years ago was not received well.Ideas for awareness/education: Awareness raising on
the TVs in the Markee, Social media, message sent by a student organization.

Faculty Responsibility as Mandated Reporters

Currently faculty must report as mandated reporters, BUT the report can by anonymous
o the student’s name doesn’t have to be noted

Maybe a magnet would be really helpful with bulleted information listing the steps as faculty often
forget ‘what’ the steps are
Sexual Assault & Sexual Violence SAS Presentation

Kate sent an email to Robin & PATH. Kia replied that she was in support of having SAS
presenters focus on alcohol usage and then letting the professional group lead SA
discussions
Images for Victims & Survivors Postcard (created by Pubs)
 A laminated sign for restrooms might be helpful- per Pete Nemmetz if Res Life supports this and
brings it to facilities with a plan for the signs, facilities could discuss options
 The hope is to get some posters and possibly window clings
 A magnet to go to students living in the Residence Hall might be helpful (with some education)
 We could ask RAs to post the image on their RA community web pages
 We can put the image on the web page (SAAC web page)
 Madeline is checking on the ordering logistics (e.g. prices).
 Madeline received a quote for posters & cards (of the triangle images & info):
