1) Look up the ADFGVX cipher (on the internet) used by the Germans in WWI. Create
an example of its use, by selecting a sample plaintext, a sample key, and showing the
steps involved in encrypting your sample plaintext. Make sure your sample plaintext is at
least 30 characters long.
2) Look up five famous cryptographers and/or cryptanalysts on the internet. Name the
five that you chose and give a brief (one-four sentences) description of what each is
known for doing. Then pick one of the five based on which one you feel was the most
impressive. Explain in further detail what they did and why you chose them.
