 Racist, terrorist
organization that
formed in Tennessee
in1866 to terrorize
minorities and
Republicans.
How did Southerners Feel About
Reconstruction?
 Most Southerners rebelled
against reconstruction.

insulted as scalawags.
 Northerners who came to the
South were insulted as
Carpetbaggers.
What was the Freedmen’s Bureau?
