RECITALS
Students will perform in evening recitals as part of the class curriculum. Students will be
informed of recital dates in advance. Recitals are an essential part to student growth and a
requirement listed in the TEKS. If students miss a recital they will be required to play the
following school day during lunch time, or classes will be pulled in for them to have an
audience.
FUNDRAISING
The piano lab will have fundraising events throughout the year. It is optional for students
to participate. However, the more participation the more monies can be earned and put to
good use for the music program. Fundraisers are used to fund for:
1. Field trips
2. Awards
3. Music
4. Sound Equipment
5. Technology Equipment
6. Uniforms
7. Instruments
8. And so much more- the list is never ending :)
COMPETITIONS
Piano lab students will perform a piano solo for SISD Solo Contest in the Spring. This
contest will demonstrate the skills each student has mastered.
Through hard work students will be successful in the piano lab. We realize that
purchasing a keyboard is expensive and most students will not be able to do this. It is for
this reason that class time be taken seriously to ensure the maximum practice!!!!
