E-Business
As the growth of technology development, e-business is becoming more popular at the 21
century. Some people like to make purchase over the internet and enjoy the processes while
others feel uncomfortable with the technology. On the other hand, many companies have their
own website to build and enhance relationships with customers to deal their business.
The sorts of products I thing would be easy to sell online are clothes and electronic
products. Many people like to buy clothes over the internet because this is an easy way to shop.
They do not have to spend a lot of time for transportation and waiting on line to pay. Some
people have no time or tired to shop in stores, this would be the best way to purchase their
clothing. Moreover, the return policies for most companies are very simple and it is very easy to
get refunds for consumers. The other one is electronic products such as digital camera, cellphone, television, etc. Consumers can get all the information and models about the electronic
products over the internet. We can compare the prices in different companies, and sometimes the
sell price in the internet would cheaper than in stores. We also do not have to worry about that
the product is not available in the store.
On the other hand, I think that plants would be difficult to purchase online. Many people
are scare to try to buy plants over the internet because many kinds of plants do not do well when
they are shipped. Plants have lives and they need air and water. They are restricted for certain
places because if the destination is very far and a company cannot deliver in a short time, the
plants would die or wither. Moreover, different plants have different sizes, and some plants
might spend a lot of space in a container. Plants are also easier to be broken during the shipping,
so it is hard to pack them. As a result, it’s really best to buy plants locally though.
I do not like to shop online because I enjoy shopping in stores. Shopping is one of my
hobbits. When I want to buy something, I like to see and touch first, but I cannot do it while I
purchase over the internet. I also hate the process to return the goods when I do not like them or
they do not fit me. The other reason is that it is very convenient to go out to buy something in
NY City. I can buy many different things near by my home. Moreover, my family likes to drive
to different malls to go shopping on some weekends. This is one of my family activities and we
enjoy these family days. But if I already shop online, we would lose our target in a mall.
However, I did some times to purchase books over the internet because they were cheaper than
in stores or I could not find the books in stores.
It is different in buying office supplies form Staples.com for a business (B2B) and for a
personal purchase (B2C). Staples might consider the difference of customer requirement, the
type of order, and the market size. A B2B site deals primarily with other businesses, not the
general public. B2B concerns itself primarily with supply chain management which allows
businesses to deal directly with their suppliers and distributors online. A B2C site sells directly to
the end user. B2C focuses on individual customer transactions. Consumer markets are measured
in the huge groups’ number while B2B firms have a few groups customer. However, the dollar
value of B2B customers is significantly larger with larger quantities than in the consumer market.
Online shoppers and e-business are growing quickly because of the internet growth. I
think that we can buy anything over the internet and most consumers will change the
consumption patterns in the future.
